New applications for DACA are allowed for the first time in years, as of December 4, 2020. If you entered the United States before June 15, 2007 and were under 31 years old on June 15, 2012 but don't have DACA yet, you should apply. In you are in Nashville, or Middle Tennessee, or are coming to Nashville, you can contact our office to get help quickly.
This current opening to apply may not stay open long. The Department of Homeland Security and USCIS are allowing applications because a judge told them that they have to accept new ones. But DHS will likely appeal. So DHS will accept applications for now, but may not accept them for long. If you don't have DACA but are eligible, you should take care of this as fast as possible.
Hopefully, President-Elect Biden will provide a new DACA program, but we don't know when that would be or how it would work. So it is in your best interest to act now. You still have to fulfill the same DACA requirements as before - no or little criminal record, graduation from high school or GED/etc completion or at least in a GED-type program, among other things. The proof can take some work.
This is good news for immigrant in Nashville, Tennessee and throughout the country. You can contact MIRA Legal now to get legal help through the process.
